영국 옥스퍼드 대학교에서 근대 역사를 전공하고 동 대학원에서 석사학위를, 켄트 대학교에서 국제분쟁 분석으로 석사학위, 더블린 대학교에서 사회과학 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 이화여자대학교 국제대학원 부교수로 재직하고 있으며 대학 토론 팀의 지도교수이다. 아시아토론챔피언십대회 심사위원을 역임했으며 이 외에 유수의 세계대학토론대회에서 심사위원 및 의장으로 활동한 경험이 있다. 국제정치와 법에 관한 많은 저서가 있으며 토론 관련 저서로는 An Introduction to English Language Debate in Asia (2005)가 있다. Dr. Brendan Howe is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the Graduate School of International Studies, Ewha Womans University, as well as faculty advisor to the university debating teams. He has written extensively on international philosophical, legal, and political issues, and also has a background in academic book publishing. He has judged three All Asian Debate Championship grand finals, where he has also served as a Deputy Chief Adjudicator and a Tournament Director, and is a former Masters champion. Dr. Howe has broken as an adjudicator and chaired adjudication panels at several World Universities’ Debating Championships, and has served as Convener, Chief Adjudicator, and Deputy Chief Adjudicator at many other international tournaments. He is also the editor of An Introduction to English Language Debate in Asia the best-selling Asian college-level debate text.
