최근 19년간 중등교사 임용시험 등 각종 국가고시 교육학 기출문제 총정리 및 완벽해설 임용고시 출제경향이 어느 정도 정착됨에 따라 EPR교육학이 더욱 알찬 수험서가 되기 위해 제4판을 출간한다. 먼저 마음속에는 교육사 및 교육철학을 제거하려는 생각이 있었으나, 작년 각 시도별 임용고시 시행계획을 보니 교육학 출제범위에 교육학개론, 교육사 및 교육철학이 포함되는 것으로 확인되어 이를 취소하였다. 그리고 그동안 교육과정 및 평가가 제4편에 함께 되어 있어 교육평가가 소홀하다는 생각이 마음 한편에 있어 왔다. 이를 해소하기 위하여 교육과정과 교육평가를 각각 분리하고 교육평가를 40페이지로 확대하는 작업을 완수하였다. 이렇게 되니 최근 교육평가에서 자주 출제되는 임용고시 출제경향을 따라잡게 되어 마음이 놓인다. 다음으로 EPR 핵심문제가 임용고시 출제경향에 맞지 않는 부분이 있어 EPR을 처음 읽으시는 분들이 항시 마음에 걸렸다. 이번 기회에 이를 모두 선별하여 삭제하였다. 교육과정 1문제, 교육평가 1문제, 교육사회학 16문제, 교육행정 및 경영 5문제 등 총 23문제를 제거하였다. 이의 영향으로 약 50페이지 정도가 줄어든다. 또한 목차도 임용고시 수험준비에 편리하도록 모두 다시 작성하였다. 무엇보다 기초이론의 목차를 모두 교육학 영역별로 상세하게 작성함으로써 목차를 보고 전체를 정리할 수 있도록 하였다. 목차를 보니 교육학 전체 영역이 한눈에 잘 들어오는 것을 발견한다. 왜 이러한 작업을 미리 하지 않았나 하는 생각이 든다. 한편 EPR교육학 논술 강의가 평생교육원에서 매년 봄 학기에 열리고 있다. 강의를 희망하시는 분들은 평생교육원에 등록하시고 강의를 수강하시면 된다. 매 학기 강의가 녹화되어 EPR교육학논술 카페에서 제공되고 있으니 필요하신 분은 온라인으로 시청하실 수 있다. 그리고 평생교육원에서 교육학논술 모의고사가 매년 가을 학기에 개설되고 있다. 교육학논술 모의고사를 통해 만점을 달성하는 이변이 벌어지기도 했다. 그럴지라도 모의고사 시험만을 과신하지 마시고 교육학 전체를 꼼꼼히 정리하는 것이 합격의 지름길이다.
