The Ecuadorian government, alongside with Bolivia and Venezuela, decided to denounce the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States. According to government officials, such action was taken to avoid being subject to the jurisdiction of international arbitration tribunals.
