골든게이트침례신학교의 선교학 교수, 미국 남침례교의 부총회장, 올리벳대학교의 총장을 역임했다. 현재는 올리벳대학교 선교학 교수 및 올리벳대학교 국제총장으로 섬기고 있다. 30년 이상 유럽, 중동, 아프리카에서 미국 남침례교 해외선교위원회 소속의 선교사로 사역했다. 특히 이 기간 동안 유럽침계교연합 의장으로 10년을 섬겼던 이슬람 선교 전문가이다. 지금도 중동과 유럽을 지속적으로 방문하며 무슬림들을 대상으로 사역하는 선교사들의 교육 및 훈련을 실시하고 있다.
