2004년 현재 미국 조지타운 대학 정치학과와 국제관계대학원 교수로 재직하면서 아시아 연구기금의 책임자 D.S.Song Korea Foundation Chair in Asian Studies를 맡고 있다. <적대적 제휴>로 2000년 '오히라 저작상'을 받았으며, 지은 책으로 <Nuclear North Korea: A Debate of Engagement Strategies>(공저) 등이 있다.
