남편인 번 벌로와 함께 미국에서 유명한 성(性)과학자. 뉴욕 주립대학 교수를 거쳐 남 캘리포니아 대학 간호학부 교수로 재직 중이던 1996년에 세상을 떠났다. 벌로 부부는 『매춘의 역사』와 『피임 : 산아제한 방법의 길잡이』를 비롯한 많은 책을 공저했으며, 각자 여러 권의 책과 많은 논문을 발표했다. 1995년에는 인간의 성(性)에 대한 연구 업적으로 '킨제이 상'을 공동 수상했다.
