로이스 타이슨 (지은이)    정보 더보기
현재 미국 미시간주에 있는 그랜드밸리주립대학교Grand Valley State University 영문학과 명예교수이다. 주요 관심 분야는 비평이론, 문학분석, 미국문학이며, 비평이론의 권위자로 인정받고 있다. 1972년 럿거스대학교 불문과를 졸업했으며, 1982년과 1984년에 각각 교육학 석사학위, 영문학 석사학위를 취득했다. 1989년 오하이오주립대학교에서 영문학 박사학위를 취득한 이후, 대략 30년 동안 그랜드밸리주립대학교에서 열정적으로 비평이론을 연구하고 가르치며 학부생들에게 지대한 영향을 끼쳤다는 평가를 받았다. 여러 비평이론 과목을 가르치며 많은 성과를 거둔 공로를 인정받아, 1994년 우수 교육상, 1996년 최우수 학문 기여상을 수상했다. 저서로는 베스트셀러이자 미국 대학 교재로 널리 애용되는 《비평이론의 모든 것Critical Theory Today》을 비롯하여 《비평이론 사용하기: 문학을 어떻게 읽고, 어떻게 쓸 것인가Using Critical Theory: How to Read and Write About Literature》와 《아메리칸드림의 심리 정치학: 20세 미국문학에 나타난 주체의 상업화Psychological Politics of the American Dream: The Commodification of Subjectivity in Twentieth-Century American Literature》 등이 있으며, 그 밖에 다수의 논문을 출간하였다.
