버드 보건대학원 사회 및 행동 과학과(Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences) 사회역학 전공 교수이며 ‘여성, 젠더와 건강에 관한 학제 간 연구센터(HSPH Interdisciplinary Concentration on Women, Gender, and Health)’ 소장이다. 1995년부터 하버드 보건대학원 교수로 재직 중이다. 낸시 크리거는 생화학, 철학, 공중보건사의 배경을 가진 세계적인 사회역학자일 뿐만 아니라 과학, 건강, 사회정의 분야에서 사회운동가로 30년 넘게 왕성한 활동을 하고 있다. 2013년 미국 공중보건협회로부터 웨이드 햄턴 프로스트 상(the Wade Hampton Frost Award)을 받고, 2015년에는 미국 암 임상 연구 전문가(the American Cancer Society Clinical Research Professorship)가 되었다. 1994년 미국 공중보건협회 산하에 ‘1848년의 정신(the Spirit of 1848 Caucus)’ 그룹을 동료들과 함께 창설하여 운영하고 있다. 주요 저서는 다음과 같다.
