2010년 현재 미국 코넬대학교의 인간발달학과 교수로서 발달, 평가, 훈련, 지능을 사회에 적용하는 것에 관해 연구하고 있다. Williams는 2001년 미국과학재단으로부터 기금을 받아 코넬아동연구소를 공동으로 설립하여 연구 성과를 사회에 널리 보급하고 있으며, 또한 소외계층에게 과학교육을 권장하기 위한 프로그램인 ‘과학자처럼 생각하기(Thinking Like A Scientist)’를 주도하고 있다. 그녀는 APA로부터 공로상을, 멘사로부터 우수 연구상을 받았으며, 그녀의 연구는 「네이처」, 「뉴스위크」, 「비즈니스 위크」, 「사이언스」, 「뉴욕 타임스」 등에 소개되었다.
