피터 콘래드 (엮은이) 정보 더보기

보스턴 대학에서 사회학 박사 학위를 받았다. 브랜다이스 대학의 해리 코플란 교수로 재직 중이며, 같은 대학에서 9년간 사회학과 학과장을 역임했다. 1981년 『일탈과 의료화』Deviance and Medicalization로 상징적상호작용학회(Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction)에서 수여하는 찰스 호턴 쿨리 상을 받았고, 2004년에는 의료 사회학 분야에 뛰어난 업적을 남긴 공로로 미국사회학대회(American Sociological Association)에서 주는 레오 리더 상을 받았다. 지금까지 수백 편의 학술 논문을 발표했으며, 저서로는 『일탈과 의료화』(공저), 『간질을 앓다』Having Epilepsy(공저), 『질병과 건강의 사회학』The Sociology of Health and Illness(공저), 『양날의 이중나선』The Double-Edged Helix(공저) 등이 있다.
