공연 산업계에서 50년 이상 작업한 베테랑. 그동안 전환수, 무대 디자인, 조명 디자인을 하기도 했고 여러 대학에서 공연 기술을 가르치거나 수많은 공연이나 방송 작품에서 자문을 하기도 하고, 주요 공연장 시설 관련 회사들에서 시스템 설계를 하기도 했다. 현재 미국, 캐나다, 유럽에서 공연용 매달기에 대해 교육하고 있다. 또한 공연장 건축 자문과 매달기 시설 안전 점검, 공연 현장의 사고 조사 등을 하는 Jay O. Glerum and Associates, Inc의 대표를 맡고 있다.
