테일러 보아스는 스텐포드 대학(Stanford University)을 졸업하고 버클리 대학(U.C. Berkeley)에서 석사와 박사를 수료했다. 본서 및 The Digital Revolution and International Development 의 공동 저자이며, 이외 다수의 논문을 발표했다. 현재 버클리대학 강사이고 애리조나 주립대학교 Institute for Qualitative and Multi-method Research (IQMR) 강사를 역임했다.
