Constitutional Transition and the Travail of Judges : The Courts of South Korea (Paperback)

역사학자 및 법학자이다. 서울에서 태어나 이화여자대학교에서 역사학을 전공하고 University of Minnesota와 University of Minnesota Law School에서 각각 Ph.D. 와 J.D. 학위를 받았다. 1997년 첫 저서로 Michel de L’Hopital: The Vision of a Reformist Chancellor during the French Religious Wars [미쉘 드 로피탈 : 프랑스 종교전쟁과 한 개혁가의 비전] (Sixteenth Century Essays and Studies 1997)을 출간한 이후, Law and Custom in Korea: Comparative Legal History [한국의 법과 관습: 비교법제사] (Cambridge University Press 2012), Constitutional Transition and the Travail of Judges: The Courts of South Korea [헌법의 변천과 법관의 고역: 대한민국의 사법부] (Cambridge University Press 2019), 그리고 Custom, Law, and Monarchy: A Legal History of Early Modern France [관습, 법, 군주제: 근세 프랑스 법의 역사] (Oxford University Press 2021)를 저술하였다. 또한 The Spirit of Korean Law: Korean Legal History in Context [한국 법의 정신: 한국 법 역사의 맥락] (Brill 2016)을 편집, 출간했다.
