Rutgers에 있는 New Jersey 주립대학 응용 및 전문 심리학 대학원에서 정신분석적 이론과 치료를 가르치고 있다. 1978년에 미국 정신분석 심리학회(National Psychological Association for Psy-choanalysis)로부터 자격증을 받은 그녀는 New Jersey의 정신분석 및 심리치료 연구소, 현대 심리치료의 전국 수련프로그램, 현대 정신분석 연구를 위한 미네소타 연구소에서도 가르치고 있으며, 미국 전역과 캐나다, 멕시코, 러시아, 스웨덴, 그리스, 터키, 호주, 뉴질랜드를 순회하며 강의를 하고 있다. 그녀는 New Jersey의 Flemington에서 개업하여 정신분석, 정신역동적 심리치료와 슈퍼비전을 하고 있다. <정신분석적 진단: 치료과정에서의 성격구조 이해>(Guilford Press, 1994)와 <정신분석적 사례이해>(Guilford Press, 1999)의 저자이며, 성격, 정신병리, 심리치료, 이타주의, 성(sexuality and gender)에 관한 여러 논문을 발표하였다.
