언론인, 진행자 겸 건축사학자. 2008년 BBC4에서 방영된 《대성당은 어떻게 생겨났나(How to Build a Cathedral)》의 공동 작가 겸 진행자로 참여했으며 대중 연설과 여행 가이드, 예술사 강의 등을 하며 활발하게 활동했다. 브리스틀대학교(University of Bristol)와 옥스퍼드 평생교육원(Oxford University’s Center for Continuing Education)에서 강의하고 있으며, 왕립위원회가 관리하는 영국역사기념물회(Historical Monuments of England)와 잉글리시헤리티지(English Heritage)와도 일했다. 대표 도서로 『대성당: 영국의 유명 대성당의 역사(Cathedral: The Great English Cathedrals and the World that Made Them)』(2002년)가 있다.
