Flora of the Voynich Codex: An Exploration of Aztec Plants (Paperback, 2019)

Chapter 1. Introduction of the Voynich Codex. A very brief summary from Unravelling the Voynich Codex.

Chapter 2. Aztec medicinal plants in botanical gardens and the marketplace: The relevance of herbs of 16^th century New Spain today Pre- and post-Columbian plant illustrations of the Aztecs, emphasizing the purpose of phytomorphs in the Voynich Codex.

Chapter 3. Phytomorph identification of the Voynich Codex: Methodology to identify illustrations of plants, Herbal vs. Pharmacology sections.  Each plant identification will include section subdivisions to include descriptors (formal botanical identification), names in English, Spanish, and Mesoamerican names where known, ecology and range, and properties (medicinal and culinary) of these and related species. Photographs of the phytomorphs and contemporary plants will be included.

Chapter 4. Conclusions A comparison of the Voynich Codex with other 16^th century herbals of New Spain and Europe..(Cruz-Badianus, Sahugan, Hernandez, Secreta Salernitana).

Appendix

A.      Table 1.  Names of plants used by the Nahua, 16^th century to today.  This helps explains limited overlap with and among the three main herbals of the 16^th century of New Spain due to the diversity of the Mexican flora.
