그림과 글로 표현하기를 좋아하던 아이는 자라면서 자유로운 창작활동에 몰입하곤 했다. 사춘기 시절에 이범석 외무부 장관의 외교활동과 외국어 구사 능력에 감동하여, 법학과 영어영문학을 전공한 후, 부산대학교 영어교육 박사과정을 수료하고 졸업하여 영어교육에 전념하기 시작했다. 현재 부산지방법원과 검찰청의 사법 통역과 기장군 자치활동의 영어 회화강의를 하고 있으며 교리 정박사 영어 교실을 운영하고 있다. 정박사의 연구 및 교수 영역은 스토리텔링을 토대로 한 읽기, 말하기, 쓰기이다. 최근의 대표적인 저술로는 2024년에 출판된 청소년 치유 동화「Happiness Is Growing In Your Mind」, 「행복은 네 맘속에 자라고 있어」, 2023년에 e-book으로 출판된 영어 그림동화 「Where Do I Bloom?」, 2022년에 출판된 영어 그림동화 「I PURPLE YOU」가 있으며, 취미활동으로 7년간 찍은 사진과 직접 그린 그림을 삽입하여 만든 영어 시집인 「Dream to the Flowers」가 있다. 그 밖에 「Oral Skill-based Shadow Reading」, 「Process-based Writing Workshop 1」, 「Process-based Writing Workshop 2」, 「Retelling with Fiction and Nonfiction Texts」 등의 저술이 있다.
