My bag got totally soaked in the rain.
As soon as I got home I spilled everything out of the bag
Both the pencil and eraser were swollen.
The writing in my notebook was swollen too.

Before you know it, the sun is shining.
I hung the pencil, eraser, and notebook on the clothesline.
The wind blew them dry until they were fluffy.
“Now, let’s go inside the bag.”

Everyone held on to the clothesline so tightly,
It was no use no matter how much I shook it.
So I dangle dangled too, next to the eraser.
And I understood why everyone was smiling so widely.

The sun was sprinkling bright sunbeams
Creating a rainbow.
