스웨덴의 그래픽 아티스트이자 삽화가. 1923년 독일 바이에른 주에서 스웨덴인 부모 밑에서 태어났으며 스웨덴 왕립 예술원과 파리에서 그래픽 아트를 공부했다. 베리는 직접 스몰란드 지방을 여행하며 집과 정원과 울타리 등을 꼼꼼히 살피고 박물관에서 그 시대의 풍경을 조사하여 에밀과 가족들의 모습을 만들어 냈다. ‘재빠른’ 화풍을 지녔으며 ‘붓을 많이 놀리지 않고도 정확하게’ 장면이나 인물을 표현한다는 평가를 듣는다. 약 50년 동안 스톡홀름 일간지의 신문 화가로 활동했다.
