1945년 생. 오스트레일리아의 저명한 역사가. 시드니 대학을 졸업하고 맥쿼리 대학에서 박사학위를 받았으며, 오랫동안 호주 국립대학과 시드니 공과대학에서 학생들을 가르쳤다. 그녀의 전공은 원주민과 이주(移住)의 역사, 페미니즘과 미디어의 역사, 역사이론과 역사서술 분야이다. 2002년에 출간한『프리덤 라이더를 회고하며 Freedom Ride: A Freedom rider Remembers』는 오스트레일리아 인권기회균등위원회가 수여하는 인권상 후보에 올랐고, 앤 맥그래스와 『사람들이 읽고 싶은 역사, 어떻게 쓸 것인가? How to Write History that people want to read』(2009)를 함께 썼다. 2013년 현재 시드니 대학에서 예술, 종교, 문화 분야 특별 연구원으로 재직하면서 연구와 저술활동을 계속하고 있다.
