프린스턴대학교 영문학과 교수. 캘리포니아대학교 버클리 캠퍼스에서 수사학 박사학위를 받았다. 주요 연구 분야는 현상학, 페미니즘 철학, 퀴어 및 트랜스젠더 이론, 현대 유럽 철학, 장애학이다. 저서로 2008년 동급생에게 살해당한 트랜스젠더 청소년 라티샤 킹의 사례를 탐구한 《라티샤 킹의 삶과 죽음: 트랜스 혐오에 대한 비판 현상학(The Life and Death of Latisha King: A Critical Phenomenology of Transphobia)》(2018)이 있으며, 공동 편집한 책으로 《비판 현상학의 50가지 개념(Fifty Concepts for a Critical Phenomenology)》(2019), 논문으로 〈류머티스학의 현상학: 장애, 메를로-퐁티, 최대한의 움켜쥠의 오류(The Phenomenology of Rheumatology: Disability, Merleau-Ponty, and the Fallacy of Maximal Grip)〉(2012), 〈젠더 본질주의와 직관적 탐구(Gender Essentialism and Eidetic Inquiry)〉(2017) 등이 있다.
