The Culture of Entrepreneurship (Hardcover, 1st)

스웨덴 출생. 스웨덴 웁살라 대학과 미국 예일 대학에서 박사 학위를 받았으며. 이후 영국의 런던정경대학(London School of Economics & Political Science), 태국의 쭐라롱컨(Chulalongkorn) 대학 등에서 강의를 한 바 있다. 그의 연구들에서는 문화적 변수를 통해 국제관계와 경제 현상을 설명하려는 시도들을 볼 수 있으며, 여러 사회들 사이에 존재하는 문화적 다양성에 주목하고 있다. 2010년까지 대만 신쭈(新竹) 국립교통대학(國立交通大學) 사회문화학 교수로 재직하였으며, 2011년부터 상하이(上海) 교통대학(交通大學) 국제관계학 교수로 재직 중이다. 저서로는, 《Why Europe Was First: Social Change and Economic Success in Europe and East Asia, 1500-2050 (London: Anthem Books, 2007).》, 《The Mechanics of Modernity in Europe & East Asia: The Institutional Origins of Social Change and Stagnation (London: Routledge, 2005)》, 《Identity, Interest & Action: A Cultural Explanation of Sweden’s Intervention in the Thirty Years War (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1996)》 등이 있다.
