프랜시스 영 (지은이) 정보 더보기

1939년생. 역사신학자이자 감리교 목사. 런던 대학교 베드포드 칼리지에서 고전학을 공부하고BA 케임브리지 대학교에서 신학으로 석사 학위MA와 박사 학위PhD를 받았으며 1984년에는 감리교 목사 안수를 받았다. 케임브리지 대학교 클레어 홀 연구원을 거쳐 1971년부터 버밍엄 대학교에서 신학을 가르쳤으며 1986년부터 2005년 은퇴할 때까지 버밍엄 대학교 신학 교수the Edward Cadbury Professor로 활동하고 버밍엄 대학교 인문학부 학장, 버밍엄 대학교 부총장을 역임했다. 1998년 신학 분야에 남긴 공헌으로 대영 제국 훈장Officer of Order of the British Empire을 받았으며 2004년에는 영국 학술원 회원이 되었다. 신약학, 성서해석학, 교부학, 조직신학과 관련된 다양한 저술을 남겼으며 현재는 버밍엄 대학교 명예교수로 활동 중이다. 주요 저서로 『목회서신의 신학』Theology Of The Pastoral Letters, 『니케아에서 칼케돈까지』From Nicaea to Chalcedon, 『성서 주석과 그리스도교 문화의 형성』Biblical Exegesis and the Formation of Christian Culture , 『부서짐과 축복』Brokenness and Blessing, 『아서의 부름』Arthur's Call 등이 있다.
