Family Lineage Records As a Resource for Korean History (Hardcover)

Gari Ledyard (1932-) is Sejong Professor Emeritus of Korean History at Columbia University. He wrote on diverse aspects of the Kory? and Chos?n dynasties including the invention of the Korean alphabet, Han'g?l, during the fifteenth century.

1957년 캘리포니아 대학교 버클리 캠퍼스를 졸업했으며, 1980년 산호세 주립대학교에서 문학석사 학위를 취득했다. 1997년부터 2000년까지 샌프란시스코 문화교차연구소에서 한국학 관련 초빙강사를 역임했으며, 2000년부터 현재까지 캘리포니아 대학교 버클리 캠퍼스와 데이비스 캠퍼스에서 초빙강사로 활동하고 있다. 한국사뿐만 아니라 교육, 동화 등에 관심을 갖고 저서와 논문들을 발표했다. 2002년에는 캘리포니아 대학교 버클리 캠퍼스 한국학센터에서 수여하는 리서치 펠로(Research Fellow)상을 받았다. 2001년에 발간된 《검은 우산 아래에서》는 2006년 일본어로 번역됐다.
