1966년 영국 링컨셔 태어나, 대학에서 신학을 공부했다. 그 후 영국 브리티시 박물관에서 그림을 그리며 혼자 그림 독학을 했고, 1996년 <Little Ban>을 처음 출간했다. 그린 책으로 <버니, 내 소중한 친구>, <두근두근 즐거운 생일 파티> 등이 있다. 현재 브리튼에서 살면서 그림책 작업을 하고 있다.
