스페인 바스크 대학 철학과 이케르바스크 연구교수로 재직 중이다. 하이데거 현상학에 사상적 토대를 두고 현대 서구 철학과 식물성의 문제에 대해 지속적으로 관심을 보여왔다. 주요 저서로는 『식물 생각하기(Plant-Thinking)』(2013), 『철학자의 식물(The Philosopher’s Plant)』(2014), 『불의 정치학(Pyropolitics)』(2014), 『체르노빌 식물표본(The Chernobyl Herbarium)』(2016) 등이 있다.
