스페인 그라나다대학교에서 통번역학 박사학위를 취득한 후 동 대학교 번역학과 교수로 재직 중이며 스페인 그라나다대학교 통번역연구소(AVANTI) 연구그룹 소장을 맡고 있다. 번역교육과 번역 방향성에 관한 저서와 논문을 다수 집필했다. 대표 연구로는 『Prensa e identidad nacional: la imagen de Espana en la prensa britanica(언론과 국가 정체성: 영국 언론에 나타난 스페인의 이미지)』(저서), 『La traduccion y la interpretacion en Espana hoy: perspectivas profesionales(오늘날 스페인의 번역과 통역: 전문가적 전망)』(편저서) 등이 있다. 이와 더불어 『La direccionalidad en Traduccion e Interpretacion: aspectos teoricos, didacticos y profesionales(번역과 통역의 방향성: 이론, 교육, 직업적 측면)』과 『Puentes: hacia nuevas investigaciones en lamediacion intercultural(가교: 문화 간 중개에 대한 새로운 연구를 향하여)』의 공동 편저자다.
