취리히 연방공과대학과 미국 뉴욕 콜럼비아대학에서 건축을 전공했고 취리히 연방공과대학에서 박사학위를 취득했다. 미국 미시건대학 윌리엄 무센하임 펠로우(William Muschenheim Fellow)로 선정되었으며 취리히 연방공과대학에서 건축 비평을 강의했다. 현재 미국 휴스턴에 있는 라이스대학 건축학과의 조교이다. 디자인 그룹 MG & CO, 건축가 토론 플랫폼인 슈탄드풍테(Standpunkte)의 설립자이기도 하며 베네치아 건축 비엔날레 스위스관의 큐레이터로도 활약했다.
