메사추세츠 주 윌리엄스 대학의 수학과의 1921년 졸업반 웹스터 앳웰 석좌교수로서 효과적인 강의를 위한 윌리엄스 대학 프로젝트의 감독을 여러 해 동안 역임했다. 그의 수상 실적은 라이스 대학교(Rice University)의 니콜라스 살고 우수 강의 상(Nicolas Salgo Outstanding Teaching award)과 미국수학학회(MAA)의 하이모 상(Haimo award)이 있다. 그가 저술한 다른 책으로는 『Algebraic Geometry: A Problem Solving Approach』(2013 공저)와 『Electricity and Magnetism for Mathematicians』(2015)가 있다.
