현재 캘거리대학교(University of Calgary) 사범대학 수학교육과 교수이다. 2006~2009년에는 캐나다 밴쿠버 소재 브리티시 컬럼비아 대학교(University of Columbia) 사범대학 수학, 과학 그리고 기술교육과 교수이자 David Robitaille 재단의장이었다. 최근 그는 인지과학과 복잡성과학 분야 안에서의 교육적 관련성과 연결되는 최근연구 발전에 집중하고 있다. 또한 그는 <공조: 복잡성과 교육 국제 학회지 Complicity: An International Journal of Complexity and Education>의 창립자이고, 수학 학습과 교육, 교육과정, 교사교육, 인식론 그리고 교육 현장 연구 등의 여러 분야에서 많은 저서와 논문을 집필하였다.
