일본 릿교(立敎)대학 경제학부 졸업. 서비스 현장의 최전선인 레스토랑과 호텔 직원으로 근무하였고, 호텔의 인사팀과 호텔 레스토랑 전문잡지사 편집자로 활동하였다. 이 책은 그가 잡지사 편집자로 활동하면서 만났던 현장 서비스맨들의 훌륭한 마인드에 감동 받아 그 동안 취재했던 많은 글들을 모아 스토리 형식으로 새롭게 창조한 글이다. 현재 잡지사 『호텔 취업 가이드』의 편집장으로 있으며, 저서로 『서비스업에 취직하고 싶다』가 있다.
