Instruction
1 Distribute the small pieces of paper to the students.
2 Give the following explanation:
3 Students write about their experience on one side of the paper.
4 On the other side of the paper, students write down the things that they would have liked to hear at that time.
5 Have the students form pairs. One student should read the story they wrote, and then give the paper to their partner. The partner should look at the other side of the paper and say the words the words that the first student wanted to hear.
6 After both students have done this, the students should give each other a hug.
7 Students fold their papers up and put them in their groups’ memory box.

Instruction
1 Give students paper to write letters. Remind them of the story friends they met in Chapter 3.
● Sunita’s family, who were kicked out of their village because of their different religion.
● Hatsan and Rahim, who were discriminated against because of their skin color.
● Amullita and her sisters, who were discriminated against because of their gender.
● Asha and Yogeshu, who were beaten up because they were from different castes.
● Indirah, who was hurt for having a disability.
2 Students should write comforting letters to one of the friends listed above. The beginning and end for every letter should look like this:
“°Dear [name of friend],
…
…
I will be your friend.
- From your friend, [name of student]”±
3 Have students read out their letters to their classmates.
