이성진 선생님은 대학원에서 특수교육전공 교육학 박사학위를 취득하고 현장에서 아이들을 가르치고 있는 특수교사이다. 특수학급, 특수학교, 특수교육지원센터에서 모두 근무하였으며 특수학교에서는 초등연구부장, 교육연구부장, 교무부장 등 주요 보직을 역임하였다. 이와 함께 ‘이긍정의 특수교육이야기’라는 개인블로그(https://blog.naver.com/natural3735)를 운영하며 평소 아이들의 수업활동과 특수교육에 관한 고민을 블로그에 올리고 있다. 이를 통해 다른 사람들과 소통하고 학부모님과 특수교육 관련 종사자에게 유익한 정보를 제공하고 있다. 또한 교육부 블로그 기자로서 특수교육에 관한 기사들을 작성하여 장애학생에 관한 인식개선과 통합교육의 질 향상을 위해 노력한 경험도 있다. 저서로는 개정 교육과정에 따른 특수교육수학교육론(공저), 특수교육 기본 교육과정 중학교 수학 교과서 및 지도서(공저), 특수교육 기본 교육과정 고등학교 수학 교과서 및 지도서(공저) 등이 있다. 특히 장애학생의 수학교육에 많은 관심을 가지고 현장에서 이론과 실제가 겸비된 수학 수업 실천사례를 전하고 있다.
