“그러면 그걸 누가 관리하고 집행하는데? 아이들이 할까? 아이들이 한다면 나도 좋아. 어른들이 하는 일은 정말 참고 볼 수가 없어. 계획을 문제 삼지는 않겠어. 계획의 끝까지 가본 적이 없기 때문에 어른들의 계획이 어떻다고 이야기하는 건 우스워. 어른들이 밑의 사람들을 억눌러놓지 않고, 또 남이나 무엇에 책임을 전가하지 않고 자기 잘못을 인정하는 것을 본 적이 있니? 공장에서는 어땠어? 어디서나 어른들은 핑계 댈 많은 적을 갖고 있지 않디?”

“Then who will manage and spend it? Young people? If young people can do it, I would love to. I really can’t stand what old people are doing. I’m not trying to find fault with their plans. It’s ridiculous to comment on that anyway because they never carry them out. Have you ever heard old people admit their faults without trying to oppress others or shift blame? How about in the factory? Have you noticed how old people always use a lot of enemies as their excuse?”


이들 그룹의 대장인 다니엘 켐프는 〈우리가 어느 누구도 괴롭히지 않고 아무도 우리를 괴롭히지 않을 곳으로 가려고 한다〉면서 새 이상향을 찾게 된 동기는 종교적 철학이 아닌 인간관계에 있으며 〈우리는 세계 어느 곳에서보다도 인간의 가치를 높여 함께 살자는 친구 집단일 뿐〉이라고 설명했다. 다 읽고 경우에게 주었다.
