A Wooden Horse and a Lady
- Park, Inhwan
Having a drink
We are talking of Virginia Woolf’s life
And the hem of a lady’s dress who has gone riding on a wooden horse.
It has disappeared into the autumn tinkling just its bells,
Leaving its owner behind A star falls from a bottle.
The heart-broken star is shattered lightly against my heart.
When the girl I kept in touch with for a while
Grows up by the grasses and trees in the garden,
Literature dies away and life fades out
And even the truth of love forsakes
The shadows of love and hate,
My beloved one on the wooden horse is not to be seen.
lt’s true that the days come and go
The time of us withers away to avoid isolation
And now we should say goodbye
Hearing the bottle falling by the wind,
We must look into the eyes of the old female novelist.
‥‥To the Lighthouse‥‥
Though the light is no more to be seen,
For the future of pessimism we cherish for nothing,
We must remember the mournful sounds of the wooden horse
Whether everything leaves or dies,
Even just with gripping the dim consciousness lighting up in the minds,
We must listen to the sorrowful tales of Virginia Woolf
Like a snake that has found its youth after creeping between the two rocks,
We must drink a glass of liquor with open eyes.
As life is not lonely
But just vulgar as the cover of a magazine,
Why do we apart for fear of something to regret.
When the wooden horse is in the sky
And its bells are tinkling at our ears,
When the autumn wind mourns hoarsely
In the fallen bottle of mine.
